Hello, this is written to give you a flavour of what happens at our holiday sessions! If you have any comments on this or would like full size copies of the photos of your children here, please let us know by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
The first 30 minutes of a session is pretty much identical. We introduce ourselves, go through our rules ( Stay safe, be kind, have fun), agree where the boundaries are, what to do if you don’t like dogs and one comes towards you, etc, and go through names so everyone knows each other a bit.
This week was a big week, with the full 14 booked on. We started off with manhunt and capture the flag, solid favourites.
After this we enjoyed a snack moment, and then got the hammocks out, resulting in a combination of hammock games, tree climbing, and general running around until midday.
Midday is lunchtime, which pretty much always co-incides with fires. Because it would be a shame to have a fire without toasting something! We enjoyed toasted sandwhichs, cinnamon sugar apples, and marshmallows!
After this we gave the children free time, and they enjoyed the hammocks, experimenting with ropes and knots, stick sword fights, den building and another game of manhunt, before all coming back together for a group game of bat bat moth (This is like marco polo, but adapted for the woods!) before we finished.
It was a really great day, with lots of smiles and fun all round. We’re looking forward to seeing you again in October! Want your child to come along? Head to our Eventbrite page now to sign up!
